LIME as an LED Color

Better colors and natural white through RGBL color mixing

The color LIME has become an important additional color in modern LED lighting technology: The yellow-green shade closes a crucial gap in the spectrum of classic RGB and RGBW systems and creates a significantly more natural lighting effect.

LIME particularly shows its strengths with white light, skin tones and subtle color nuances. The broadband spectrum creates colors that not only appear vivid, but also more natural and balanced.

What LIME is used for in color mixing
Classic LED primary colors such as red, green and blue work monochromatically. Each only covers a narrow range of the light spectrum. When mixed colors are created from them, the human eye perceives a new color, but physically important spectral components are missing.

LIME works differently: The color is generated using a phosphor and therefore produces broadband light with components ranging from the red to the green spectral range. This additional information improves color rendering and makes light appear more natural.

Better white for stage, events and architecture
When creating white light, brightness alone is not what matters. The key factor is how completely and evenly the spectrum is reproduced. If important color components are missing, skin tones can quickly appear grayish, pale or greenish.

LIME complements the spectrum where classic color mixing systems often reach their limits. The result is higher-quality white light with a more pleasant effect on people, decorations, stage sets and architectural surfaces.

More possibilities through LIME, Amber and Cyan
In modern LED systems, LIME is often combined with additional colors such as amber or cyan. Amber supports warm orange and yellow tones, while cyan complements the range between blue and green.

This creates versatile color mixing systems that enable both vivid effect colors and balanced white tones. For professional applications, this means greater flexibility in designing shows, stage sets, events and installations.
